Call for Symposium

An international academic gathering titled the “VI. International Turkic World Communication and Art Symposium” will be organized in partnership with Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, the Union of Journalists of Kyrgyzstan, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, the Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World, and the Turkic World Culture, Art and Cinema Foundation. Artists, academicians, and scholars conducting scientific studies in all fields of communication and art are invited to participate in this international knowledge feast.

The “VI. International Turkic World Communication and Art Symposium” will be held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, between October 22–24, 2026, under the coordination of the Faculty of Communication of Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, in partnership with Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

Participants of the Symposium, which is supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), and TURKSOY, may submit papers written in all dialects of Turkish, as well as in English or Russian, on any topic within the field of communication and art in the context of the Turkic World. Abstracts and full-text papers presented at the symposium will be published as an e-book in December 2026. In addition, upon the request of the authors, full-text papers deemed suitable for journal format by the Symposium Committee will be published in the Symposium Special Issues of MANAS Journal of Social Studies (MJSS) and BELET International Social Sciences Journal, provided that they pass the journals’ double-blind peer-review process.

Within the scope of the “VI. International Turkic World Communication and Art Symposium”, documentary film screenings from Kyrgyzstan will also be held as part of the 11th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival, which is organized annually by the Federation of Journalists of the Turkic World.

The symposium, which was first initiated in 2019 under the name “International Turkic World Press Symposium” hosted by Amasya University, was expanded in scope and renamed as the “International Turkic World Communication and Art Symposium” during its second edition hosted by Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, addressing all fields of communication and art that are closely interconnected. The third symposium was held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan; the fourth in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan; and the fifth in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The “International Turkic World Communication and Art Symposium” is directly supported by Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Kazakh T. Zhurgenov National Academy of Arts, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Karabük University, Bozok University, Selçuk University, Gümüşhane University, Near East University of the TRNC, FON University, Azerbaijan Target Education Institutions, Azerbaijan Press Council, Azerbaijan Ashugs Union, Azerbaijan Turkish Hearths, Turkic World Culture Art and Cinema Foundation, Cinema and Art Foundation, and Niğde Journalists and Writers Association.

Through the symposium, it is aimed to discuss academic issues in the fields of communication and art, share mutual experiences, develop common research methods, present current issues, determine future perspectives of scientific research, and lay the groundwork for joint projects in the Turkic World.
